About the Role
We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Coffee Shop Assistant to join our busy and welcoming coffee shop. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
As a Coffee Shop Assistant, you will play an important role in creating a positive experience for our customers. From preparing high-quality drinks and food to maintaining a clean and organised environment, you'll help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the coffee shop while working as part of a supportive team.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills, and a willingness to learn. Previous experience in a café, coffee shop, retail, or hospitality environment is beneficial, but full training can be provided for the right person.
You will be reliable, hardworking, and enjoy working as part of a team. If you are passionate about delivering great service, enjoy interacting with customers, and take pride in your work, we'd love to hear from you.
Duties:
- Provide a warm and friendly welcome to all customers, always delivering excellent customer service.
- Prepare and serve coffee, drinks, and food in line with company standards.
- Operate the till, process payments accurately, and assist customers with purchases.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the coffee shop.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures.
- Assist with stock replenishment and ensure products are displayed attractively.
- Support colleagues during busy periods to ensure efficient service.
- Handle customer queries and requests in a professional and helpful manner.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as required.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
Skills required:
- Previous experience in a café, coffee shop, hospitality, or customer-facing role is desirable.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- A friendly, approachable, and positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Basic food preparation experience.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable but not essential.
