Support for mornings (consisting mostly of personal care and medication administration)
Support during early evenings (primarily for food preparation, personal care as needed and further medication administration)
Overnight Sleepins (should any support be required on a brief scale)
All shifts/visits are shared on a staff roster and flexibility is a key factor for both staff and client. There is a strong team spirit and sense of belonging, which creates a very niche and rare opportunity.
Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to provide exceptional support and assistance to an individual who is cared for at their home. The successful candidate will be a vital addition to the small team of other Care Workers, who in turn take great emphasis in enhancing the quality of life for our client by delivering personalised care with professionalism and empathy. Prior experience in care is highly desirable. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while developing valuable skills within the healthcare sector. In addition you will play a key role in the ability for this individual to be able to live as independently as possible, whilst recieving support for a physical disability. The individual has full capacity, and we also encourage a positive socialisation in this role, enhancing the overall quality of the individuals life.
Duties
- Assist with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility to promote independence.
- Administer medication following prescribed schedules and protocols to ensure safety and compliance.
- Support meal preparation to meet nutritional needs and dietary preferences.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance mental well-being.
- Assist with housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Support clients with mobility, using proper techniques to prevent injury.
- Respond promptly to emergencies by applying first aid procedures when necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and communicate effectively with team members.
Experience
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home care is preferred.
- Knowledge of care practices.
- Experience with medication administration.
- Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, patience, and a caring attitude towards clients.
