Breakfast Chef – The Copley Arms, Hessenford
7am–10am | 5 days per week | Additional hours available
Following an extensive refurbishment of The Copley Arms and the addition of 8 new letting bedrooms, we’re looking for a Breakfast Chef to join our growing kitchen team.
This is a great opportunity to join us at an exciting time for the pub.
Working alongside our experienced and supportive Head Chef and kitchen team, you’ll be responsible for delivering a great breakfast for our staying guests, using fresh, local and seasonal produce wherever possible.
The core role is 7am–10am, five days per week, making it ideal for someone looking for regular morning hours. For anyone looking for more, there will also be the opportunity to pick up additional hours within the kitchen and wider business.
A little bit about us
The Copley Arms is an independent country pub in Hessenford, currently going through an exciting period of investment and growth.
Following the refurbishment of the pub and the addition of our new bedrooms, our focus is now firmly on developing the food and hospitality side of the business.
Our sister pub, The Castle Inn at Lydford, had a fantastic 2024/25, being recognised as the Best Pub in Devon at the Devon Tourism Awards, as well as receiving Gold awards from Taste of the West and the Devon Food & Drink Awards.
We’re now looking to build on that experience at The Copley and create something equally special.
Who are we looking for?
You don’t need to have years of experience or a long list of qualifications.
We’re much more interested in finding someone who is:
- Reliable and happy with early starts
- Friendly and easy to work with
- Proud of the food they put out
- Keen to learn and develop
- Able to work calmly and efficiently
- Comfortable working as part of a small team
Previous kitchen experience would be great, but it isn't essential for the right person.
A Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred, although training can be provided.
The role will include weekends and bank holidays as part of the normal rota.
