The Nursery Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring high-quality care, education, safety, and wellbeing for all children. This role includes staff supervision, curriculum planning, regulatory compliance, parent communication, and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment.
Requirements
* Level 3 or above qualifications in childcare care
*2 years experience/ paid work in Early Years
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
- Oversee all nursery operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and high-quality service.
- Lead, supervise, and motivate nursery staff, including organizing staff rotas and conducting performance reviews.
- Support professional development and training for team members.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive workplace culture.
Childcare & Curriculum
- Ensure the delivery of an engaging, age-appropriate curriculum (EYFS or equivalent).
- Monitor children’s progress, observations, and developmental records.
- Promote a nurturing, stimulating environment that supports children’s physical, emotional, and educational development.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children in the setting.
Parent & Family Communication
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers.
- Communicate regularly regarding children’s progress, behaviour, and development.
- Handle parent inquiries, concerns, and feedback professionally.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure the nursery meets all regulatory standards and complies with childcare legislation.
- Oversee health and safety procedures, including risk assessments and emergency planning.
- Maintain accurate records (attendance, accidents, safeguarding documentation).
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness, nutrition, and hygiene throughout the setting.
Administration & Finance
- Manage nursery budgets, invoicing, and resource allocation.
- Maintain enrolment records and oversee admissions.
- Order supplies, equipment, and resources as needed.
- Support marketing efforts and represent the nursery professionally.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
