About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Forklift Truck Workshop Technician to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with strong mechanical ability, particularly in engine rebuilds, who enjoys working on a variety of forklift trucks and material handling equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and repair forklift trucks and associated equipment.
- Carry out complete engine rebuilds and major mechanical repairs.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults.
- Inspect equipment and prepare machines to a high standard.
- Complete job sheets and service reports accurately.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workshop environment.
- Work efficiently to meet customer and business requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a forklift truck technician, plant fitter, HGV technician, agricultural engineer, or similar.
- Strong engine rebuild experience is essential.
- Basic electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Good understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working on leading forklift brands such as Toyota, Linde, Hyster, Yale, Mitsubishi, Jungheinrich, or similar.
- Relevant engineering qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- Welding and fabrication experience would be advantageous.
