Job Title: HGV Class Dustcart 2 Driver
Location: Bedford
Salary: £17.01 per hour, hours over 40 hours are paid at £25.55, bank holidays are £34.02 per hour.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6am start, 40 hours per week
My client, a well-respected waste collection company working on behalf of the council, is recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Dustcart Driver to join their team in Bedford. This is an excellent opportunity for professional drivers seeking secure, long-term work with clear progression on pay and benefits.
As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will play a key role in supporting local services by carrying out waste and recycling collections safely and efficiently. Drivers may also be required to assist with loading, so a flexible and team focused approach is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Driving a HGV Class 2 vehicle across local collection routes
- Ensuring all waste and recycling collections are completed safely and on schedule
- Assisting with loading duties when required
- Following health and safety procedures at all times
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Previous dustcart driving experience is desirable, but not essential
- A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
- CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Good knowledge of Bedford and surrounding routes is an advantage
