Summary
Steins Foods is a growing importer and distributor of specialty and mainstream food products. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to take full ownership of our warehouse operation.
This is not a role for someone who needs to be closely directed day to day. We are looking for a confident, hands-on leader who can assess what the warehouse needs, set clear priorities, put effective systems in place and lead the team to deliver them.
You will be responsible for ensuring the warehouse runs safely, efficiently and accurately, while continually identifying opportunities to improve processes, team performance and service levels.
What you will be doing
- Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the warehouse.
- Lead, manage and develop the warehouse team, setting clear expectations and maintaining accountability.
- Set priorities and direction for the department, ensuring the team is focused on the most important operational requirements.
- Ensure all goods are received, stored, picked and dispatched accurately and on time.
- Maintain high standards of stock control, stock rotation, warehouse housekeeping and health and safety.
- Monitor warehouse performance and introduce improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy and productivity.
- Identify operational issues before they become problems and take ownership of finding and implementing solutions.
- Plan labour and warehouse resources to meet daily workloads, seasonal demand and business growth.
- Work closely with purchasing, sales, customer service and management to ensure stock availability and customer orders are delivered effectively.
- Manage warehouse procedures, documentation and compliance requirements.
- Support recruitment, training, performance management and development of warehouse staff.
- Ensure the warehouse is organised, disciplined and operating to consistently high standards.
What we are looking for
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a senior warehouse leadership role.
- Experience managing and developing warehouse teams.
- A strong operational mindset, with the ability to take ownership and make sound decisions independently.
- Someone who is proactive and able to create structure, priorities and direction without waiting to be told what to do.
- Strong understanding of warehouse processes, stock control, goods-in, picking, dispatch and health and safety.
- Experience improving warehouse efficiency, accuracy and team performance.
- Confident handling people management, including setting expectations, addressing issues and holding team members accountable.
- Highly organised, practical and solutions-focused.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with other departments.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change.
- A hands-on approach and willingness to be involved in the operation when required.
This is an opportunity for a capable warehouse leader to take real ownership of a department, shape how it operates and play an important role in supporting the continued growth of Steins Foods.
