School Cleaner – Parsons Cross, Sheffield S5

NowThen Cleaners is recruiting a reliable cleaner to work at a school in the Parsons Cross area of Sheffield (S5).
This is a regular afternoon position suited to someone looking for consistent part-time hours that fit around the school calendar.
Working hours
- Monday to Friday, 3:00pm–6:00pm
- 15 hours per week
- £13.45 per hour
- Term-time contract, approximately 38–39 weeks per year
- No usual cleaning shifts during school holidays, allowing annual leave to be taken across the school breaks
- Fixed school location in Parsons Cross, Sheffield S5
What you'll be doing
You'll have responsibility for keeping an allocated section of the school clean and ready for the following day. Typical duties include:
- Cleaning classrooms and other teaching areas
- Vacuuming and mopping floors
- Cleaning toilets and washrooms
- Wiping desks, surfaces and touch points
- Emptying bins and replacing liners
- Cleaning corridors and shared spaces
- Using cleaning equipment and products correctly
- Following the school's safeguarding and site procedures
You'll work as part of an established cleaning team, but will also be trusted to manage your own area and make sure it is completed thoroughly within your shift.
What we're looking for
We're particularly interested in people who are dependable and take genuine pride in doing a job properly. Previous professional cleaning experience is helpful, and experience working in schools would be a bonus.
You should:
- Be able to reliably work 3pm–6pm every weekday during term time
- Be comfortable working independently once trained
- Work well alongside other members of the cleaning team
- Be willing to follow our cleaning, health and safety and safeguarding procedures
- Be flexible enough to respond to reasonable requests from the school within your normal working hours
- Have good attention to detail and a consistent approach to your work
Safeguarding
As this is a school-based position, you must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check for the Child Workforce as part of our safer recruitment process.
Successful applicants will also be required to provide satisfactory references and complete relevant safeguarding and school-specific training.
