Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated FLT Driver/Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklift trucks and supporting various warehouse activities, ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of materials. Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklift trucks to load, unload, and move goods within the warehouse
- Assist with materials handling, including stacking, organising, and storing stock items
- Support shipping and receiving processes by preparing orders for dispatch and receipt
- Conduct basic equipment repairs or report faults to maintenance teams promptly
- Maintain accurate records using warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Ensure all health and safety protocols are adhered to during daily operations
- Assist with inventory counts and stock organisation to optimise storage space
- Support general warehouse duties such as cleaning work areas and maintaining a tidy environment
Requirements
- Valid forklift licence with proven experience in operating forklift trucks safely
- Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge or ability to perform basic equipment repairs is advantageous
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently (up to 25kg)
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Basic maths skills for inventory counts and order processing
- Strong understanding of materials handling procedures and safety regulations
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
