International Group provides opportunities to work on areas including - spending control on international development, trade policy, climate change, health, cooperation on Ukraine, economic security, financial sanctions and tackling illicit finance. We also manage economic relationships with Europe, US, China and other advanced economies and emerging markets.
We build relationships with external and international partners and represent the UK in a range of international groupings and institutions, including the G7, the G20, the International Monetary Fund and at some of the Multilateral Development Banks. We also analyse international comparisons and the wider global economic context, including for fiscal events.
Some international travel could be required, predominately to Washington DC, alongside regular travel within the UK to chosen meeting locations.
G7 and G20 Team
The UK is taking the G20 Presidency in 2027 and G7 Presidency in 2028, offering a rare and exciting opportunity to be at the heart of a major international economic fora.
The Finance Track is the part of the presidencies co-chaired by the Chancellor and Governor of the Bank of England, with HM Treasury and the Bank taking joint responsibility for setting the agenda of that year, delivering consensus across shared priorities and hosting the majority of meetings.
To support this, we are standing up a new joint delivery unit across HM Treasury and the Bank of England. This team will lead on the delivery of all in-person and virtual meetings, project management, secretariat, communications, governance, finance and contracting.
This role offers the opportunity to play a hands-on part in delivering a high-profile and fast-paced programme in the run up to and during the UKs G20 Presidency. It will suit someone who can bring structure to complex work, use sound judgement to resolve delivery issues, and coordinate effectively across teams, suppliers and stakeholders. Responsibilities will change over the lifecycle of the project, and all team members will be expected to work flexibly across workstreams as required.
Key responsibilities for this role will include:

Coordinate delivery activity across key workstreams for the Finance Track of the UKs G20 Presidency, including events production, venue coordination, delegate liaison, logistics and wider programme management.

Maintain and use programme trackers, action logs and delivery plans to monitor milestones, risks and dependencies, escalating issues clearly when decisions are needed.

Support the planning and delivery of meetings and events, working with colleagues, suppliers and delivery partners to ensure arrangements are accurate, timely and aligned with programme priorities.

Build positive working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders, including venue leads, production suppliers and contractors, to support effective delivery and resolve practical issues at pace.

Support engagement with delegations from other G20 members by coordinating practical information and processes covering accommodation, transport, visas, accreditation and other delegate requirements.

Contribute to continuous improvement across the delivery unit by identifying practical ways to strengthen processes, improve information flows and support a professional service to ministers, senior officials and partners.
This role will run to the end of the UKs G20 Presidency in December 2027, with the opportunity to extend by mutual agreement to the end of 2028 to cover the G7 Presidency.
