Sundries Buyer
As Sundries Buyer, you will be responsible for running our sundries sales areas both inside and outside. You ideally will be an experienced retailer with previous buying experience
The main responsibilities involved include
- Advising our customers on suitable products for their needs.
- Maintaining strong working relationships with suppliers to further improve success of the department. Look for opportunities for offers and promotions to enhance offering.
- Where required be able to step up and support other areas of the garden centre
- Manage daily cleaning and housekeeping tasks to ensure all stock is clearly and accurately priced, always looking fresh, environment is maintained to a high standard.
- Be commercially aware to achieve sales and profit targets, being competent with EPOS systems and MS office applications.
The ideal candidate will
- Be knowledgeable and passionate about plants and plant-related products would be beneficial but not essential.
- Have or be willing to obtain a first aid qualification.
- Have or be willing to obtain a forklift driving licence.
- Have the ability to lift heavy items such as specimen plants, bags of compost, stoneware etc. on a routine basis.
AN AVERAGE OF 39.25 HOURS PER WEEK OVER A TWO-WEEK PERIOD.
ALTERNATE WEEKEND WORKING REQUIRED WITH ONE WEEKDAY OFF EACH WEEK.
