About Tigerlily
Tigerlily First Aid Training delivers practical, in-person first aid training to nurseries, schools and childcare professionals across the UK.
We are building a suite of CPD-accredited e-learning courses for nurseries, nannies and childminders, and we are looking for a second e-learning designer to help us build them.
This is not a content-churn role. We are deliberately building a smaller library, done properly — accurate, engaging, practitioner-led courses that early years professionals genuinely trust and value.
The opportunity
The courses are short: typically one to two hours of learner time each.
Scripts and storyboards are written for you by our scriptwriters and signed off by our first aid trainers and Quality Director. Your job is to turn those scripts into e-learning people actually want to complete — immersive, learner-focused and genuinely inclusive, rather than the click-next-to-continue material that dominates this market.
You will work alongside:
- our existing designer and illustrator team,
- our scriptwriters and subject specialists,
- Tigerlily's in-house first aid trainers,
- and our Quality Director, who oversees sign-off and accreditation.
What you'll be doing
- Building courses in Articulate Storyline, and Rise 360 where it's the better fit for the content
- Turning written scripts and storyboards into interactive, scenario-led learning
- Designing and building knowledge checks, branching scenarios and end-of-course assessments
- Producing or adapting illustration, iconography and simple motion sequences
- Sourcing and syncing voiceover, captions and subtitles
- Building to WCAG 2.2 AA — keyboard navigation, screen-reader labelling, alt text, colour contrast, no meaning carried by colour alone
- Publishing and QA testing across SCORM/xAPI, desktop, tablet and mobile
- Maintaining and extending Tigerlily's visual style, templates and reusable component library
- Version control, accessibility statements and annual review updates
- Flagging anything in a script that won't work instructionally or clinically, before it gets built
About youEssential
- Demonstrable Articulate Storyline experience — variables, triggers, states and branching, not just Rise
- A portfolio of published courses we can look at or click through
- Experience working from scripts written by someone else, and collaborating closely with scriptwriters and subject matter experts
- Strong visual design skills — Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign or equivalent
- Motion and animation ability, whether After Effects, Animate or Storyline's own timeline
- Practical, evidenced understanding of accessible and inclusive design
- Excellent written English and a good eye for on-screen copy
- Confidence working independently and remotely, and managing deadlines
Desirable
- Rise 360, Vyond, Camtasia
- Experience of regulated, accredited or clinical content
- Audio editing and AI voice tools
- Experience designing for learners with low digital confidence
- Any early years, education, healthcare or first aid content background
We're less interested in years served than in what you can show us.
Inclusive by design
Our learners are nursery practitioners, childminders and nannies. Many are studying on a phone, in a break, on a shared device, sometimes with English as an additional language, and almost always with limited time.
Courses need to be readable, navigable and completable in that reality — not just technically compliant on a checklist.
AI and working style
AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and ElevenLabs are expected to form part of your workflow — asset generation, voiceover, tidying copy and speeding up production.
We are not looking for AI-generated courses. We are looking for someone who uses AI intelligently to remove the grind, then applies their own craft and judgement to everything that reaches a learner.
Why join Tigerlily?
- Fully remote working
- Flexible freelance structure
- Well-written scripts and clear briefs — you are not writing the content as well as building it
- Real creative ownership of the build
- Strong ongoing retainer potential as the suite grows
- Supportive, quality-focused team
- Interesting and meaningful project work
How we start the engagement
The project begins with one paid calibration course.
We give you a finished script and brief, and you build one course from the launch suite, along with a short note explaining your design decisions — why you chose those interactions, how you handled accessibility, and anything you would change about the script. If both sides are happy, the project continues for the remaining courses.
