Role Overview
Work 2 days per week, 10am–4.30pm, (Mondays and Sundays) alongside a colleague to share responsibilities and ensure seamless service coverage every day. Report daily to the Care Home Manager, delivering stimulating activities that make every day meaningful, while collaborating with the care team and adhering to CQC guidance.
Pay will be based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
· Initiate and implement therapeutic, meaningful activities tailored to residents’ individual capabilities, wishes, and preferences.
· Liaise with external entertainers, therapists, and groups to provide a varied programme of events; organise birthdays, garden parties, tea parties, and regular memory-sharing sessions using photos, music and life stories
· Encourage and facilitate outings or short trips, completing relevant risk assessments.
· Meet regularly with residents or their representatives to ensure their social contact and activity needs are supported.
· Create, publish, and display a weekly timetable of events; maintain documentary evidence of all activities and document individual participation and involvement in care records.
· Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care, attending meetings as necessary.
· Assist the wider team with reasonable duties when needed, such as escorting residents to appointments or supporting mealtime engagement.
· Adhere to all Grove Park policies on safeguarding, confidentiality, health & safety, infection control, and incident reporting.
Person Specification
· Experience supporting elderly people, especially those with dementia, in a care or community setting.
· Passion for person-centred activities like music, crafts, exercise, sensory sessions, and reminiscence to promote wellbeing.
· Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills; creative, patient, and adaptable.
· Familiarity with CQC standards or willingness to learn.
