Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating lorries to deliver goods across various locations. Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 lorries, with company standards
- Conduct pre-journey safety checks and report any vehicle issues promptly
- Load and unload goods efficiently, ensuring correct handling of fragile or specialised cargo
- Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel efficiency
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logbooks
- Adhere to all traffic laws and health & safety regulations during driving and loading activities
- Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with clients and colleagues during deliveries
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained throughout the shift
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence (C+E entitlement) recognised in the UK
- Proven experience in deliveries
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable
- Good understanding of road safety regulations and compliance standards
- Ability to operate trucks safely and securely, including securing loads appropriately
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently
- Excellent communication skills and a professional manner when dealing with clients and team members
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required, including early mornings or late evenings if necessary

Pay: £15.00-£22.50 per hour
