We are looking for an experienced practitioner in early years, who MUST be qualified in CHILDCARE to Level 3 , to join our small, homely and really friendly childcare organisation . You must be passionate about working with children and share the same core values and beliefs as Toadhall Montessori Nurseries and Out of School Academy.
Our main aim is to put the child at the centre of all we do and to nurture and support every individual, to have a safe, secure and amazing fun filled time, which in turn will enable them 'to be the best they can be'.
Location: Llandaff North, Cardiff CF14 2FF
Hours: 8am - 6pm, 4 days/38 hours a week Monday to Friday (1 day off a week)
Starting Salary: £12.88 to £13.50 per hour, depending on your level of qualification/s in CHILDCARE and experience, to date.
Contract: 12 month Temporary Contract in the first instance.After you have successfully completed your 6 month probationary period and induction, the position will be made permanent
We are looking for a qualified Level 3 Nursery Practitioner who :-
- Has at least 2 years experience and training in working with children aged 0 to 8 years
- Is passionate about working with children and supporting their amazing growth and development
- Has excellent knowledge,understanding and skills in relation to the role and responsibilities of working confidently and competently ,as an Early Years Nursery Practitioner and Key Workerwith children aged 0 to 8 years
- Is hardworking, dedicated, compassionate and empathetic, to working with parents and families
- Has high expectations and aspirations for the children,themselves and others
- Has some understanding of the Montessori Approach to teaching and learning and be willing to develop their knowledge, experience and skills in this pedagogy
- Has some knowledge and understanding of the Curriculum for the Non Maintained Sector in Wales and it’s Assessment Arrangements and are willing to develop this pedagogy within the organisation
- Has a genuine love and joy about 'Learning through Play' in the Outdoors
- Is willing to gain a Forest School qualification
- Is able to create an exciting FUN ,'in the moment', programme of activities, based upon the child's interests, to develop 'awe and wonder' for every child, within an engaging and accessible indoor and outdoor environment
- Has the ability to act as a key worker to a group of children and support their co worker to provide the very best safe and secure learning environment and development and progression, for every child
- Has the confidence and skills to work closely with parents,giving high quality continuous feedback, verbally ,face to face and using an online app
- Is a strong team player with excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Has good IT skills
As an employee at Toadhall Montessori Nurseries and Out of School Academy, you will undertake your role, by experiencing 'excellent rated',high quality, first hand experiences within a highly qualified, experienced and supportive team of Early Years Practitioners.
You will have the opportunity to develop your career further by undertaking additional in-house and external Continuous Professional Development training, along with the opportunity for you to complete your CCPLD Level 4 and Level 5 qualifications and /or your Transition to Playwork qualification.
