About the Role Zen Educate is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to work in schools across Mansfield and the wider Nottinghamshire area. This role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs, delivering tailored learning, and creating an inclusive environment where every child can succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with SEN.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of learning needs, including ASD, ADHD and SEMH.
- Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to deliver effective interventions.
- Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate records in line with school policies.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals.
- Promote positive behaviour and support pupils’ emotional and social development.
- Contribute to EHCP reviews and individual support plans where required.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs.
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
- Ability to differentiate learning effectively.
- A patient, flexible and supportive approach to teaching.
Desirable
- Experience in specialist SEN settings or resource provisions.
- Knowledge of EHCP processes and SEN frameworks.
- Training in areas such as autism support, behaviour management, or trauma-informed practice.
