Overview
We are seeking a motivated Kitchen Chef Assistant - Kitchen Operator to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in supporting our kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and assisting in food preparation to deliver exceptional dining experiences. Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards and presentation expectations
- Support kitchen staff with ingredient handling, measuring, and portioning according to recipes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety protocols including HACCP guidelines
- Operate basic kitchen equipment and mechanical tools safely and efficiently
- Follow established procedures for food safety and hygiene to prevent contamination or spoilage
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and report shortages or issues promptly
- Contribute to a positive team environment by supporting colleagues during busy service periods
Requirements
- Knowledge of HACCP principles and strong commitment to food safety practices
- Basic understanding of food production processes and kitchen operations
- Mechanical knowledge or experience operating kitchen equipment is preferred
- Ability to perform basic math for measuring ingredients accurately
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment is advantageous but not mandatory
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive attitude toward learning
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
