Salary: Grade 7 from: to £41,292 to £48,557 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £52,761 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting, through sustained exceptional contribution (pro-rata if part-time).

The Technical Services team at Brunel is seeking an experienced, innovative, and self-motivated individual to lead the operation and development of its Digital Fabrication Laboratory (DFL). The DFL is a core technical facility supporting teaching, research, innovation, and industry engagement through advanced 3D printing, additive manufacturing, laser cutting, prototyping, and digital manufacturing technologies.
Equipped with a range of professional and industrial-grade 3D printing systems, the facility enables students, researchers, staff, and external partners to produce high-quality components using advanced materials.
You will have substantial experience in digital fabrication, additive manufacturing, engineering, manufacturing, or product design, including the operation and maintenance of industrial-grade additive manufacturing systems. You will possess strong knowledge and experience of 3D printing technologies, digital fabrication equipment, and CAD/CAM software, together with experience training and supporting users in a technical environment.
Working with colleagues across the University, you will provide technical leadership in the safe and effective use of equipment and software, supporting projects from concept development through to prototype and component manufacture. You will manage the day-to-day operation of the laboratory, including equipment maintenance, user training, technical support, and the delivery of inductions and workshops.
