Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team for weekend shifts. As a key member of our logistics operation, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods, primarily utilizing trailers, across various routes. Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance before each shift
- Load and secure cargo efficiently on flatbed trailers, ensuring proper weight distribution and stability
- Deliver goods to designated locations on time, maintaining excellent communication with dispatch teams
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs and inspection reports
- Follow all health and safety protocols during loading, unloading, and transit processes
- Assist with unloading cargo at delivery sites when required, ensuring proper handling and placement
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with delivery routes involving trailers
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and transportation laws
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo and securing loads
- Excellent time management skills to meet tight schedules on weekends
- Good communication skills for liaising with dispatch teams and clients
- Flexibility to work weekend shifts consistently and adapt to changing schedules
