Lunchtime Kitchen Assistant
We are looking for a reliable and friendly Kitchen Assistant to support our canteen team.
Hours: 2 hours per day, Monday to Friday
Contract: Term time only
Main duties
- Serving meals and refreshments
- Clearing tables and collecting used dishes
- Washing dishes and kitchen equipment
- Cleaning tables, work surfaces and floors
- Keeping the kitchen and dining area clean and tidy
- Following food hygiene and health and safety procedures
- Assisting with other general canteen duties when required
The successful candidate will be punctual, hardworking and able to work well as part of a team. Previous experience is helpful but not essential, as training will be provided.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality roles such as restaurant or hotel work
- Strong knowledge of kitchen safety practices and hygiene standards
- Excellent serving skills with a friendly, approachable attitude towards students
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members
- Basic culinary skills complemented by experience in food handling and preparation techniques
- Enthusiasm and teamwork
Pay: £12.71 per hour
