Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced CPCS/NPORS Telescopic Forklift Driver to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will operate telescopic forklifts to efficiently move materials across various site locations, ensuring safety and precision at all times. Your mechanical knowledge and expertise in commercial driving will be essential in supporting our project’s success. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale construction projects while maintaining high standards of safety and operational excellence.
Duties
- Safely operate telescopic forklifts equipped with CPCS (Construction Plant Certification Scheme) or NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme) certification to lift, move, and position materials around the site
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of the forklift, ensuring all safety features are functional before use
- Coordinate with site managers and team members to deliver materials accurately and efficiently to designated areas
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of construction equipment, including attachments for excavators when necessary
- Maintain detailed logs of daily operations, including hours worked, materials moved, and any incidents or equipment issues
- Follow all health and safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a secure working environment
- Support other site activities as needed, utilizing mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues
Qualifications
- Valid CPCS or NPORS certification for telescopic forklift operation
- Proven experience in commercial driving within a construction or industrial environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge, with the ability to perform basic maintenance checks on equipment
- Familiarity with excavators and their attachments is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to safety compliance
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction setting while maintaining attention to detail
