Business Development Executive– Fire & Security Systems

About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious and results-driven Business Development Executive to join our growing Fire & Security team. This role is focused on generating new business opportunities, developing strong client relationships, and driving sales of fire and security solutions across commercial, industrial, and public-sector markets.
The successful candidate will have experience in technical sales within the fire and security industry and a proven ability to identify, develop, and close new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new business opportunities for fire alarm, CCTV, access control, intruder alarm, and integrated security solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
- Conduct site visits, surveys, and customer meetings to understand client requirements.
- Prepare and present technical proposals, quotations, and tender submissions.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to contract award.
- Work closely with engineering, estimating, and project delivery teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Maintain an up-to-date pipeline and achieve agreed sales targets.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies.
- Attend industry events, networking opportunities, and trade exhibitions.
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience in business development or sales within the Fire & Security sector.
- Strong knowledge of fire alarms, CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and related systems.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to understand and explain technical solutions to customers.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Knowledge of BS5839, SSAIB, NSI, BAFE, and relevant industry standards.
- Experience working with consultants, contractors, facilities management companies, or end users.
- Existing network of contacts within the Fire & Security industry.
- Experience with CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
