We're looking for an experienced Barista to join the Hatch & Barrel team, working Saturdays and Sundays across our coffee and bar service in West End, Southampton.
This is a role for someone who takes real pride in a proper coffee, enjoys the buzz of a busy weekend shift, and likes being part of a small, friendly team where regulars know your name. You'll also get full training to work behind the bar, serving beers and drinks through the afternoon.
If you're confident on an espresso machine, enjoy the variety of coffee shop by day and bar by evening, and like the idea of being part of something still finding its feet in the local community, you'll feel at home here.
What you'll be doing
You'll be working closely with a small, friendly team to deliver great coffee and a warm welcome, every weekend.
Day to day, that includes:
- Making and serving quality coffee to a consistent standard
- Providing friendly, attentive service to regulars and new customers alike
- Serving beers and drinks behind the bar during the afternoon shift
- Keeping the coffee station and bar area clean, stocked, and running smoothly
- Handling orders and payments accurately, even during a rush
- Being a genuine part of the local community feel we're building

Nice to have, but not essential:
- Previous bar or drinks service experience
You'll need to be reliable and available every Saturday and Sunday. This is an in-person role at Hatch & Barrel, West End, Southampton.
What's in it for you
You'll be joining a genuinely friendly, community-focused team, at the very start of something new, full training provided on the bar side, £13.50 per hour, 8:30am–4:30pm both days (16 hours a week), with scope to pick up more hours if you want them as we grow.
