The Role
As the Quality & Technical Manager, you will be the site quality and technical lead for our Coventry facility, ensuring the highest standards of quality, compliance, and product safety across our operations.
You will lead the development and maintenance of the site Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and Bodycote requirements. You will drive a zero-defect culture through effective quality management, risk reduction, customer complaint resolution, corrective actions, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Working closely with operational teams, customers, and suppliers, you will provide technical expertise across heat treatment, metallurgy, and specialist processes. You will support inspection and laboratory activities, quality assurance processes, external audits, technical reviews, and the ongoing development of site standards and capabilities.
This is a key leadership role for a quality professional who can influence change, solve complex problems, and support operational excellence within a global engineering organisation.
We are looking for an experienced Quality & Technical professional with strong knowledge of heat treatment, metallurgy, and quality management systems.
Strong knowledge of Bodycote quality requirements and quality management systems.
Experience with aerospace quality standards including EN9100 and NADCAP.
Understanding of automotive quality systems including IATF16949 and CQI-9.
Strong technical knowledge of heat treatment and/or metal joining processes.
Experience working with customer specifications, material standards, and technical requirements.
Background in Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience within Aerospace, Energy, Automotive, or Medical sectors is desirable.
HNC level qualification or equivalent relevant experience preferred.
Auditor qualifications and experience with AS9100, IATF16949, ISO14001, or similar standards desirable.
You will also bring a proactive approach to problem solving, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
