Duties
- Assist with food preparation tasks under the supervision of chefs, including washing, peeling, chopping, and basic ingredient handling
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils efficiently and thoroughly
- Support the organization of kitchen supplies, ensuring ingredients and equipment are stored properly and accessible
- Help with waste disposal and ensure the kitchen adheres to health and safety standards at all times
- Support serving staff by ensuring clean plates, cutlery, and serviceware are ready for use during service periods
- Assist with basic cooking tasks as directed by senior kitchen staff to support meal preparation
- Contribute to a positive team environment by maintaining a proactive attitude and communicating effectively with colleagues
Skills
- Experience in food preparation or working in a restaurant or hotel setting is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene practices and safety regulations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Basic culinary knowledge related to food handling and preparation techniques
- Previous experience serving guests or working in hospitality is a plus
- Enthusiasm for learning new skills within the culinary arts and hospitality industry
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
