Shape and Lead a New Children's Residential Home
An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Manager to take the lead of a new 3-bed Children's Residential Home in Barnet, North London, supporting 2 young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
Offering a salary of £55,000–£60,000 per annum, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced children's residential professional who wants to play a key role in developing a new service, building a strong staff team and establishing a positive culture from the outset.
With a 3-bed home supporting just 2 young people, the focus will be on providing consistent, high-quality and child-centred care while achieving positive outcomes for each young person.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful development and day-to-day leadership of the home.
You will work closely with senior leadership to establish a safe, compliant and nurturing service while developing a capable residential team committed to delivering excellent standards of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and day-to-day management of the Children's Residential Home.
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted requirements and Children's Homes Regulations.
- Recruit, lead, supervise and develop the residential staff team.
- Maintain excellent safeguarding and child-centred practice.
- Oversee care plans, risk assessments and quality assurance.
- Build effective relationships with Local Authorities, families and external professionals.
- Establish a positive and stable culture within the new home.
- Monitor service quality and drive continuous improvement.
- Promote positive outcomes for young people with EBD.
What We're Looking For
- Management experience within an Ofsted-regulated Children's Residential Home.
- Previous Registered Manager experience is highly desirable.
- Strong Deputy Managers ready to progress may also be considered.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
- Level 5 Leadership & Management, or currently working towards it.
- Experience supporting children and young people with EBD.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, Ofsted requirements and Children's Homes Regulations.
- Proven leadership and staff-management skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational ability.
