Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Indian Chef to lead our culinary team and deliver authentic Indian cuisine. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing a diverse range of traditional dishes, supervising kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Indian dishes, ensuring flavour, presentation, and quality meet established standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to maintain efficient food production and service
- Manage food preparation processes, including ingredient selection, portion control, and cooking techniques
- Oversee food safety protocols, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with health regulations
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely serving of dishes and excellent customer experience
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and minimise waste
- Lead by example in maintaining a positive team environment and fostering professional development among staff
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Indian Chef or in a similar culinary role specialising in Indian cuisine
- Supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
- Strong knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques specific to Indian dishes
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
- Excellent understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Good communication skills and the ability to serve as a positive role model for the team
