Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Day Carer to provide high-quality care and support to elderly individuals during daytime hours. The successful candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing and independence of our clients, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and valued in their daily routines. Duties
- Assist elderly clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming in accordance with care plans
- Support clients with mobility and daily activities to promote independence
- Prepare and serve meals, ensuring dietary requirements are met
- Engage clients in social activities, conversations, and recreational pursuits to encourage mental stimulation
- Monitor and report any changes in health or behaviour to senior staff promptly
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any incidents or concerns
- Assist with light household tasks such as laundry and tidying to maintain a safe living environment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to foster a positive atmosphere
- Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation
Skills
- Experience working within a care home or home care setting is desirable
- Ability to develop personalised care plans tailored to individual needs
- Proficient in using IT systems for record keeping and communication purposes
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and team members
- Strong organisational skills to manage daily routines efficiently
- Good driving skills with a valid licence for transporting clients safely
- Compassionate nature with genuine concern for elderly wellbeing
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and reliability
Pay: From £13.37 per hour
