Overview
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Store Manager to support the daily operations of Bryn Llwyd Services in Bangor. In this role, you will work closely with the Store Manager and a large team of colleagues to drive sales, uphold standards, and deliver key KPIs. You will be a central motivator within the business, helping maintain morale and creating an operation that keeps customers returning.
This is a hands‑on leadership role within a fast‑paced environment. Your typical working week is approximately 42.25 hours, including every other weekend, with flexibility required during busier trading periods.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Support the Store Manager in overseeing all daily store operations.
- Maintain high operational and organisational standards across the site.
- Manage the sales floor to maximise profitability and ensure excellent customer service.
- Develop and manage rotas for opening, closing, and daily staffing requirements.
- Ensure efficient functioning of all shop departments and services.
Stock & Inventory Control
- Oversee stock levels to ensure availability and correct seasonal rotation.
- Conduct daily and weekly stock counts.
- Manage shop specials, promotions, and seasonal changes.
- Control inventory to minimise waste and maintain cost efficiency.
Financial & Administrative Duties
- Complete daily till balancing and cash reconciliation.
- Process invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support the store’s pricing strategy and cost‑control measures.
People Management
- Motivate, coach, and develop team members to achieve their full potential.
- Lead by example as a strong role model and mentor.
- Handle management issues professionally, including disciplinaries and grievances.
- Manage holiday planning, rota fairness, and staffing levels.
Customer Experience
- Ensure a friendly, welcoming, and efficient environment for all customers.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service.
- Respond quickly to operational challenges and customer needs.
