Salary – £39,000 - £42,000 per year

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Environmental professional to join our Health, Safety and Environmental team within a complex and heavily regulated site.

You will be the ‘go-to’ expert providing technical support and advice to plant management across the business on all aspects of environmental management to include air and water emissions, waste management and environmental permitting topics.
You will play a vital role in developing solutions for site wastes in terms of appropriate treatment and recovery techniques and disposal routes, and to pursue continuous environmental improvement initiatives using appropriate tools and techniques.
Leading and participating in investigating environmental issues and incidents, both on a proactive and reactive basis is a key aspect of the role, to secure cost effective compliance and continuous environmental improvement for the Company.
What we need to know about you
We are looking for someone with knowledge and significant experience of UK and European environmental legislation. A qualification in IEMA is preferred.
You will be capable of influencing internal stakeholders taking into account their individual departmental priorities. You must have a passion for identifying and driving schemes to deliver continuous improvements for the benefit of the Company, its employees and customers.
You should be someone with experience of working within a large and complex manufacturing operation, with a working knowledge of Environmental Management Systems. The ability to work to highly demanding deadlines is a prerequisite along with excellent communication skills.
