G & H Scaffolding & Brickwork Ltd is a growing construction subcontractor specialising in scaffolding and brickwork services for medium to large residential and commercial developments across the UK. We work with developers, principal contractors, and housebuilders, delivering high-quality workmanship and reliable project support.
The Role
We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to help identify and secure new tender opportunities for our scaffolding and brickwork divisions.
This role is ideal for someone with strong industry contacts, experience reviewing tender portals, and the ability to engage with contractors, developers, and procurement teams to generate quality leads and tender opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and identify suitable tender opportunities within the construction sector.
- Monitor tender portals and procurement platforms.
- Contact main contractors, developers, and procurement departments to identify upcoming projects.
- Build and maintain relationships with key industry contacts.
- Review tender documentation and assess project suitability.
- Assist with pricing submissions and commercial reviews.
- Maintain a pipeline of upcoming opportunities and provide regular reporting.
- Work closely with management to support business growth.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, or Commercial Manager within construction.
- Knowledge of scaffolding, brickwork, or related subcontractor packages is highly desirable.
- Experience working with residential developers and main contractors.
- Strong communication and networking skills.
- Ability to identify commercially viable opportunities.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
Desirable
- Existing relationships with housebuilders, developers, and main contractors.
- Experience using construction tender platforms such as Glenigan, Barbour ABI, Constructionline, or similar.
- Understanding of subcontract tendering processes.
