We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing personalised support to our service users fostering their development and wellbeing. Duties
- Offer one-to-one support to adults and young people, encouraging their personal growth and confidence.
- Assist with daily activities, including organising meaningful activity and recreational programmes aligned with individual needs.
- Support behavioural management strategies, promoting positive behaviour and social skills.
- Collaborate with service users, family members, and social workers to develop and follow personalised support plans.
- Facilitate learning activities, including teaching basic skills or specialised programmes where appropriate.
- Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to relevant professionals and families.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety policies at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of support sessions, activities undertaken, and progress made.
Skills
- Experience working with adults or young people in educational or care settings is highly desirable.
- Strong mentoring abilities with a genuine interest in supporting personal development.
- Teaching skills that enable effective communication of information tailored to individual needs.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Compassionate nature with the ability to build trusting relationships.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for liaising with colleagues, families, and external agencies.
- Ability to remain patient and adaptable in various situations whilst maintaining professionalism at all times.
