We are a family run business with 35 years in this pub, sadly 2 of our chefs are leaving as one is off travelling the world and our second is moving back to Spain! We have very small staff turn over within our business with our longest cook having worked for us for 30 years.
We are looking for 2 chefs to join our team, work alongside the owners and managers in creating new menus and dishes and ready for the winter season. We believe in a true work life balance and have a very flexible rota system.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Manage food production processes, ensuring timely delivery of meals during service hours
- Oversee food safety procedures and maintain cleanliness in accordance with health regulations
- Assist in menu planning and development to enhance customer satisfaction
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers for ingredients procurement
- Train new team members in food preparation, safety standards, and service protocols
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Maintain a positive working environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen or hospitality environment
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team
- Demonstrable experience in food safety compliance and hygiene standards
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of culinary trends and innovative cooking methods is an advantage
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Experience in serving guests and understanding customer preferences enhances service quality
Shift Pattern - 2 Chefs are required
Shifts that will be available are the following
Monday 11 - 9.30
Tuesday 9 - 4 or 3 - 10
Wednesday 9 - 4 or 3 - 10
Thursday 9 - 4 or 3 - 10
Friday 9 - 4 or 3 - 10
Saturday 12 - 9.30
Sunday 8 - 6 or 10 - 7.30
