Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 or 2 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed trucks, with precision and adherence to all safety regulations
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, ensuring on-time arrivals at designated destinations
- Secure loads properly on flatbed trailers, verifying that cargo is safely fastened for transit
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to maintain optimal safety and compliance
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and route sheets
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
- Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with clients, customers, and team members during drop-offs and pickups
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed loads and delivery routes
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and transportation laws
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with securing loads on flatbeds
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings or weekends if required
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients
