The Band 5 Mental Health Worker will form a key part of the Intensive Support Function (ISF), supporting children and young people aged 5–18 with Autism, Learning Disabilities, and complex behavioural needs. The role will focus on delivering direct clinical interventions, supporting assessment and care planning, and working proactively with families and professionals to reduce crisis, prevent placement breakdown, and avoid unnecessary hospital admissions.
The post holder will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to formulation, risk management, and multi-agency planning. They will hold a defined caseload under supervision, maintain high-quality clinical records, and ensure compliance with safeguarding, governance, and Trust policies. The role will also involve providing advice and consultation to wider systems, supporting consistent approaches across services, and contributing to overall service effectiveness and improved outcomes for children, young people, and their families.
Essential Requirements:
Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Social Worker with relevant professional body registration.
Passion for working with children and young people in a mental health setting.

You will have: -
A high level of enthusiasm and dedication to providing quality, community based mental health services to children, young people, and their families
Experience in providing interventions & formulations to address the needs of the client group
Experience of working with children and young people who, due to their mental and emotional health needs, present with a level of clinical risk
Experience of working under pressure and in a demanding, fast paced environment
To have the skill to adapt and the flexibility to think on your feet due to the nature of your role
Access to transport or have the ability to travel to a variety of venues as part of the working day
