TIG/MIG Welding Tutor
About the Role
Passionate about precision welding and ready to inspire the next generation of fabricators? We are seeking an experienced TIG/MIG Welding Tutor to join our team. In this role, you will step away from full-time production and use your practical expertise to train, mentor, and develop aspiring welders.
No prior teaching experience? No problem—we will support your transition into education by fully funding and supporting your Level 3 Teaching Qualification through Windsor Forest Colleges Group (WFCG).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver practical and theoretical instruction on TIG and MIG welding processes, surface preparation, and joint fit-up.
- Guide students in reading blueprints, interpreting schematics, and applying fabrication math for precise measurements.
- Demonstrate safe operation of workshop machinery, hand/power tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Inspect student work, conduct weld defect analyses, and provide constructive feedback to build trade confidence.
- Maintain workshop equipment, manage material inventory, and enforce rigorous safety protocols.
- Complete teacher training coursework alongside delivering workshop training.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven hands-on experience as a skilled TIG and MIG welder (MMA experience is a plus).
- Technical knowledge of industry welding standards, joint design, and metallurgy basics.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to teach blueprint reading and basic fabrication math.
- Excellent communication skills, patience, and enthusiasm for mentoring others.
- Willingness to undertake the Level 3 Teaching Qualification (funded by WFCG).

Pay: £25.00-£35.00 per hour
