The Role
This is a unique hybrid position combining virtual veterinary care with in-clinic relief work across our London practices.
As our Hybrid Telemedicine & Relief Veterinarian, you'll be responsible for managing a wide range of virtual consultations, patient follow-ups, client communications, and prescribing activities. You'll also provide clinical cover across our network of clinics when required, helping support the team during periods of sickness, annual leave, or other operational needs.

Key ResponsibilitiesVirtual Care & Telemedicine
- Conduct virtual consultations via video, phone, and messaging platforms
- Perform triage assessments and advise on appropriate next steps, including whether in-person care is required
- Provide wellness consultations, follow-up appointments, chronic condition monitoring, and preventative care guidance
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans where clinically appropriate and in accordance with RCVS guidance
- Support pet owners with education and coaching on medication administration, recovery monitoring, nutrition, behaviour, and home care
- Maintain accurate medical records and case notes within our practice management systems
- Coordinate follow-up care and referrals with clinic teams
- Help develop and expand Snoots' growing virtual care services
Clinical Relief Support
- Provide in-clinic veterinary cover across the Snoots network as needed
- Support clinics during periods of sickness absence, annual leave, and unexpected staffing shortages
- Deliver high-quality consultations, diagnostics, treatment planning, and patient care
- Collaborate closely with clinic teams to ensure continuity of care
- Adapt quickly to different clinic environments and caseloads

The successful candidate should be comfortable travelling to any of our London locations when clinical cover is required, including:
- Acton
- Balham
- Forthill
- Islington
- Bounds Green
- London Fields
Working Pattern
This role is designed to support pet owners during the times they need us most, which means availability outside traditional clinic hours is essential.
The successful candidate should expect to work a schedule that includes:
- Regular evening shifts
- At least one weekend day each week (Saturday or Sunday)
- A combination of remote telemedicine work and in-clinic shifts as required
- Flexibility to provide occasional clinical cover across our London clinics when operational needs arise
Exact working hours and rota patterns will be discussed during the interview process, but candidates should be comfortable working evenings and weekends as a core part of the role.
Typical schedules may include a mixture of afternoon and evening shifts, weekend coverage, and occasional daytime clinic cover.
Requirements
- MRCVS and eligible to practice in the United Kingdom
- Minimum 3 years' experience in small animal clinical practice
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
- Experience managing a varied small animal caseload independently
- Excellent communication and client relationship-building abilities
- Confidence conducting consultations through video, phone, and digital channels
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a distributed team
- Flexible and willing to travel between London clinics when required
- Passionate about innovation, patient advocacy, and improving access to veterinary care
Desirable
- Previous telemedicine or virtual consultation experience
- Experience in emergency triage or urgent care
- Interest in developing new digital veterinary services
- Experience working across multiple practice locations
