Job Overview
We are looking for a practical, reliable and hardworking Equestrian Matting Installer to join our friendly and supportive team. The role involves travel to customer sites and may occasionally require overnight stays where required.
We have an outstanding reputation within the equestrian industry and take great pride in the quality of our workmanship and customer service. Every installation is completed to a high standard, with careful attention to detail, durability and the individual needs of each customer.
This is primarily a seasonal role, with installation work offered as it becomes available. During busy periods, it may provide full-time hours, but hours will vary and cannot be guaranteed. When installation work is unavailable, there may be opportunities to assist at our Sudbury site. This position could suit someone looking for seasonal work or an additional source of income. Much of the work is carried out independently, but you will remain part of a welcoming team that values professionalism, good communication and mutual support.
For example:
Week 1 - 1 day work (8 hours)
Week 2 - 3 days work (24 hours)
Week 3 - 5 days work (40 hours)
Week 4 - no installation/work
Our installation services include:
- Stable flooring – robust rubber matting systems designed to provide comfort, traction and protection for horses while helping to improve stable maintenance.
- Fully sealed mat installations – precision-fitted and sealed systems designed to provide a hygienic, durable and easy-to-maintain surface.
- Loose-lay mat installations – practical, removable matting solutions for stable floors and other areas where flexibility is required.
- Wash bays – hard-wearing, slip-resistant matting designed to withstand regular washing, water and heavy use.
- Stable wall matting – protective wall lining to help reduce the risk of injury and minimise damage to stable walls.
- Horse walkers – durable, heavy-duty matting solutions designed to withstand high levels of equine traffic and daily use.
- Gym flooring – professional rubber flooring installations providing impact protection, grip and durability for equestrian gyms and training facilities.
- Grass management matting – ground protection and access solutions designed to reduce wear, mud and damage in high-traffic grass areas.
Responsibilities
- This would be independent working majority of the time, as a company we have an outstanding reputation in the equestrian industry and pride ourselves on our level of customer service. We would expect someone to reflect these values.
- Hotel accommodation, when required would be paid for together with a meal allowances.
- Prepare work sites by clearing debris and ensuring surfaces are ready for mat installation
- Measure and cut mats accurately to fit designated stable areas, ensuring seamless placement
- Use appropriate tools and equipment to secure mats firmly in place, following safety protocols
- Inspect installed mats for quality, alignment, and stability, making adjustments as needed
- Maintain a clean work environment by removing waste materials and organizing tools after each project
- Collaborate with team members to complete installations efficiently and uphold safety standards
- Document work progress and report any issues or discrepancies to the office promptly
Skills:
The successful applicant will be friendly, dependable and committed to producing consistently high-quality work. You should be comfortable travelling, working independently and adapting to different customer sites and conditions.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Full training will be provided.
- Strong practical ability and confidence using hand tools and power equipment safely.
- Excellent attention to detail for precise measurements and fitting of mats
- The physical fitness and stamina required to lift heavy mats and carry out repetitive manual tasks.
- Good communication skills to follow instructions clearly and work effectively.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to construction or installation environments an advantage.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different work sites and conditions while maintaining quality standards and professional attitude.
