Situated in picturesque Dorney, Crocus at Dorney Court aims to transform the idea of a local garden centre into a celebration of plants and nature.
We've revamped the café, creating a relaxed, casual setting that's full of fresh greenery and serves wholesome seasonal produce, delicious cakes and refreshing hot and cold drinks.
We are open 7 days a week, 9am - 5.00pm during the summer, with the cafe serving hot food between 9am and 4pm.
We are recruiting for experienced Cook/Chefs to join our busy team:
Duties Include:
- Prepare all food as instructed.
- Run the cold section including at busy times, with training, assist with breakfast and main section when necessary.
- Follow specs and instructions on preparing and foods and presenting all dishes to maintain consistency.
- Clean down section and working area after each use and to stay on top of deep cleans.
- Put away or to assist in putting away deliveries and reporting on incorrect or damaged goods.
- Maintain clean and tidy storage areas i.e. fridges, freezers and dry stores and all stock is in date and stock rotated.
- To be aware of what needs ordering and advise the person doing the ordering of what needs ordering for the next day or in good time for goods to be delivered.
- To keep on top of washing up when kitchen porter is off or to assist at busy times if needed.
- Full clean of section at the end of each day including walls, fridge, and floor, mopped and swept.
- To be aware of and comply with all COSHH requirements.
- Adhere to all health and safety and personal safety considerations.
- Provide support to other members of the kitchen and front of house team as required.
- Any other reasonable duties/requests as required.
This is a full time role (40 hours a week). You will work a minimum of 5 days a week, this may include 1 day during the weekend.
Skills/Experience required
- A proven track record in a similar role.
- Knowledge of cooking techniques and methods.
- Ability to use key kitchen equipment.
- A passion for food & dining experience.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to be firm but fair.
