GKT MOT Centre is a busy, independent MOT and vehicle repair centre with a strong reputation for honest advice, quality workmanship, and excellent customer service. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced MOT Tester & Vehicle Technician to join our team on a self-employed basis.

The Role
As an MOT Tester & Mechanic, you will be responsible for carrying out MOT inspections, vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repairs across a wide range of makes and models.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Class 4 MOT tests in line with DVSA standards.
- Carry out vehicle servicing and routine maintenance.
- Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment.
- Perform mechanical repairs efficiently and to a high standard.
- Identify and advise on additional repair requirements.
- Complete all job cards and MOT documentation accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Deliver excellent customer service and represent the business professionally.
RequirementsEssential
- Current and valid MOT Tester licence.
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Desirable
- Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience with a wide variety of vehicle makes and models.
- Air conditioning, diagnostics, or hybrid vehicle experience.

Pay: £25,651.70-£40,000.00 per year
