We’re bringing Bob & Berts to a brand-new location, and we’re looking for a brilliant Assistant Manager to help us open the doors with energy, personality, and plenty of good coffee. What You’ll Be Getting Stuck Into
Leading the Team
- Bring the Buzz: Lead from the front during busy shifts, keeping the team upbeat, focused, and ready to give every customer a great experience.
- Build the Team: Help welcome, train, and support new team members as they learn our standards, our menu, and our way of doing things.
- Keep It Fun: Create a positive, supportive atmosphere where the team enjoys coming to work and customers feel the difference.
- Scheduling: Assist the manager in creating staff schedules and ensuring adequate coverage, particularly during peak hours.
Running a Brilliant Store
- Make Every Shift Flow: Support smooth opening and closing routines, keeping the store clean, organised, welcoming, and ready for every rush.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, place supplier orders, and conduct regular inventory counts to minimize waste.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment are maintained and serviced as needed.
- Safety Compliance: Uphold all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Customers, Coffee & Sales
- Create the Bob & Berts Feeling: Make every customer feel welcome, handle feedback with confidence, and help build a loyal local customer base.
- Get Behind the Goals: Support promotions, encourage the team to drive sales, and help make the new store a go-to spot in the community.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain expert knowledge of our coffee, tea, and food menu to make recommendations.
Financial & Administrative Tasks
- Cash Handling: Oversee cash management, till balancing, and daily bank deposits.
- Financial Reporting: Assist with reporting on daily sales and KPIs, helping to manage labour costs and expenses.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Ideally 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality, coffee shop, or café environment.
- Barista Skills: A love of great coffee, with strong hands-on knowledge of espresso brewing, milk steaming, and latte art.
- Leadership: A confident, upbeat approach to leading, motivating, and supporting a busy team.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical Strength: Capable of standing for long periods and lifting heavy items
- Right to work. You must have the right to work in the UK.
