Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our busy hospitality or food service environment. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate team members during shifts, ensuring efficient workflow and excellent service delivery
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining quality standards and adherence to food safety regulations
- Manage daily operational tasks including stock control, cleanliness, and organisation of the kitchen or service area
- Provide guidance and support to staff, fostering a positive team environment and promoting professional development
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies across all areas of operation
- Handle customer enquiries or complaints professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction is prioritised
- Assist in training new staff members on company procedures, food safety standards, and service protocols
- Monitor service times and optimise staffing levels to meet customer demand
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, or culinary arts with relevant kitchen experience
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food production
- Leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and motivate staff
- Experience in serving or hospitality roles is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
- Good communication skills and a professional demeanour
- Previous experience in restaurant management or as a barista is advantageous
- Flexibility to work during peak hours including evenings and weekends as required
