We are building a serious and ambitious hospitality team and are looking for a talented Head Bartender to help lead the bar operation with consistency, confidence, and strong guest focus.
Role Description
We are looking for a polished, experienced, and highly capable Head Bartender to join the team at Automat.
This is a key front-of-house role for someone who combines strong cocktail and beverage knowledge with leadership, organisation, pace, and genuine hospitality. The Head Bartender will be responsible for leading the bar during service, maintaining high drink standards, supporting the team, and ensuring the bar runs smoothly and professionally at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the bar during service and set the standard for the wider bar team
- Prepare and serve cocktails, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic drinks to a consistently high standard
- Maintain excellent standards of mise en place, cleanliness, presentation, and organisation
- Support training, development, and day-to-day supervision of the bar team
- Ensure strong service flow between bar, floor, and kitchen
- Monitor stock levels, bar readiness, ordering needs, and daily preparation
- Engage confidently with guests and deliver warm, polished, knowledgeable service
- Contribute ideas for cocktails, seasonal serves, and product development
- Keep the bar calm, efficient, and well controlled during busy service
- Support the management team in maintaining high operational standards
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience as a Head Bartender, Senior Bartender, or strong bartender ready to step up
- Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, wines, and bar operations
- Excellent speed, consistency, and attention to detail under pressure
- A polished, professional, and guest-focused approach
- Strong organisational skills and ability to lead by example
- High standards of presentation, discipline, cleanliness, and product quality
- Calm, solutions-focused attitude during busy service
- Genuine pride in hospitality and delivering quality at all times
- Strong communication skills and positive team spirit
- Someone who understands that great bartending is both technical and hospitality-led
