Intelance is appointing a Lead Integration Architect as a contract associate for the definition phase of a major UK enterprise technology programme. You will work directly with Intelance's Chief Enterprise Architect and a small senior team. The work will define how legacy, Oracle, operational, reporting and external systems should exchange information through a controlled integration platform. This is a hands on architecture role. The expected commitment is about 28 days across an 8 to 10 week period. Delivery will be mainly remote, with limited planned travel where needed.
- Verify the existing connections between Oracle, bespoke applications, reporting tools and external services.
- Produce an accurate current integration map and identify the connections that create the greatest risk or effort.
- Design the target integration architecture and the rules that all future connections should follow.
- Define the priority connections and the order in which they should move.
- Lead the technical requirements and assessment for the integration platform.
- Define practical patterns for APIs, events, files, scheduled transfers, monitoring and error handling.
- Work closely with the Oracle Technical Architect and Security Architect.
- Estimate the delivery effort, skills, dependencies and technical risks for each stage.
- Produce clear diagrams and decision papers for senior business and technology leaders.
- Provide a clean handover into implementation.
- At least 10 years of technology architecture experience.
- Strong recent experience leading enterprise integration architecture.
- Evidence from at least three programmes involving ERP, Oracle, bespoke applications or complex legacy systems.
- Practical experience replacing direct system connections with a managed integration approach.
- Strong knowledge of APIs, messaging, event based integration, file transfer and batch processing.
- Experience assessing integration platforms and implementation partners.
- Able to turn incomplete technical information into clear decisions, costs and delivery steps.
- Able to create simple executive diagrams and detailed technical designs.
- Clear written and spoken English.
- Based in the United Kingdom, with the right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Available for about 28 days across an 8 to 10 week period.
Experience in manufacturing, distribution or supply chain businesses is useful. Experience with Oracle estates is also useful. No single integration platform is required because the platform has not yet been selected.
- £575 to £650 per day, depending on directly relevant experience.
- Flexible delivery pattern across the agreed 8 to 10 week period.
- Direct access to Intelance's Chief Enterprise Architect and senior client decision makers.
- A clearly defined piece of work with named outputs and decision points.
- Potential follow on architecture and delivery work, subject to programme approval and performance.
- Pre agreed travel expenses paid separately.
Please apply with a current CV. The process is a short screening form, a 30 minute introductory call and one focused technical discussion. We will move quickly and keep the process clear. The engagement will be subject to contract, reference checks and an IR35 status assessment.
