We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Ealing, starting in September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with previous experience supporting children with SEN who is passionate about helping pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the school's SEN team to provide high-quality support to pupils with additional needs.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN
- Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and engage positively in learning
- Assisting with targeted interventions and classroom activities
- Supporting pupils' social, emotional and academic development
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours
- Working collaboratively with teachers and other members of the school team
- Building positive and professional relationships with pupils
- Following school policies and maintaining high standards of safeguarding
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN – essential
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- A patient, caring and consistent approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A proactive, reliable and adaptable attitude
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare
Core subject graduates are also welcome to apply, provided they have previous experience working with children with SEN.
Safeguarding training and allergy awareness training are desirable but not essential, with relevant training able to be discussed as part of the role.
