Role Overview
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day financial operations of the business. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing transactions, and supporting reporting to help drive informed business decisions.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working across multiple revenue streams (hospitality, events, bookings, and retail).
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
- Process daily transactions (sales, purchases, receipts, and payments)
- Reconcile bank accounts, payment platforms (e.g. Stripe, PayPal), and EPOS systems
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Assist with payroll processing and staff expense management
- Monitor cash flow and report any discrepancies
- Support monthly management accounts and reporting
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors
- Ensure compliance with HMRC and financial regulations
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar finance role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Experience with accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
- Comfortable working with multiple income streams and high transaction volumes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
- Experience in hospitality, leisure, or retail sectors is a plus
Desirable (Not Essential)
- AAT qualification or similar
- Experience with EPOS and booking systems
- Understanding of stock and cost of sales (especially for food & beverage)
