Lenzie Landscapes is a busy, growing landscaping company based in Kirkintilloch, working across Glasgow and the surrounding area. Due to continued growth we're expanding our team and looking for an experienced Squad Leader to run one of our landscaping squads.
The Role
You'll lead a small squad (3 people) day-to-day on site — running the job, keeping quality and pace up to standard, and being the main point of contact for our office team on progress and any issues that come up. This is a hands-on role: you'll be working alongside your squad, not just supervising.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading a squad of 3 on residential landscaping projects — patios, decking, fencing, turfing, planting, drainage, and general groundworks
- Reading and working from job specs/scope of works, and flagging any site issues early
- Keeping the job on schedule and to the standard our clients expect
- Managing materials on site and liaising with the office on deliveries/ordering
- Acting as the main contact for the client on site during the job
- Mentoring and developing less experienced squad members
- Maintaining a safe, tidy site at all times
What We're Looking For
- Solid hands-on experience in landscaping/groundworks, ideally with some experience leading or supervising others
- Full UK driving licence (required)
- Strong all-round landscaping skills — hard landscaping (paving, decking, fencing) and soft landscaping (turfing, planting)
- Someone who takes pride in the finish of their work and holds a squad to that same standard
- Good communication — comfortable dealing directly with clients on site
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently running a job
