Vessel Refurbishment Engineer — Halifax
We're a small, professional, family-run business, and we're looking for someone to join our engineering shed.
The main role is refurbishing, re-valving and re-certifying LPG vessels, including de-gassing and stripping old units, NDT testing, and general mechanical engineering work.
You'd also be expected to help out across the yard when needed such as:
- Loading and unloading the pyrolysis oven
- Preparing and pouring concrete moulds
- Loading and unloading vehicles
- Helping out wherever there's work to be done
No previous experience needed. All training and qualifications are provided you don't need to walk in with tickets. What you do need to bring is the right attitude and work ethic:
- A willingness to learn and take on new skills
- Reliable and punctual you turn up and put the work in
- Good with your hands and happy working in a busy engineering environment
- A team player who'll turn their hand to whatever the day needs
- Takes pride in doing a job properly to a high standard and safely

The details:
- Full-time, 39 hours a week: 8–4 Mon–Thurs, 8–3 Friday
- You're paid through your dinner hour
- £18.00/hour, rising to £19.00 once you pass your 6-month probation
- Any hours over 39 paid at standard hourly rate
- Occasionally you may need to start early or finish past 4 — it's rare for this role, and you'll always get advance warning
- Monday to Friday, no weekend work
Location: In person, Halifax. You'll need to reliably commute (or be planning to relocate).
