Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of materials, stock, and shipments within our busy warehouse environment. Responsibilities
- Handle materials with care, ensuring accurate picking, packing, and stocking of products to meet order specifications.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and efficiently to load, unload, and transport goods throughout the facility.
- Manage shipping and receiving processes by verifying shipments, inspecting goods for damage or discrepancies, and updating inventory records using our warehouse management system.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure products meet company standards before dispatch or storage.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks safely, following proper manual handling procedures to prevent injury.
- Support stock replenishment by organizing storage areas and maintaining accurate stock levels through regular inventory checks.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely order fulfillment and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment or similar logistics setting is preferred.
- Proven skills in materials handling, picking & packing, and stock management are highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts is advantageous; forklift certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software will help streamline operations.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during busy periods.
- Strong attention to detail for quality control tasks and accurate record keeping.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
