Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Volunteer Befrienders to provide companionship and support to women in our community. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of women who may be experiencing social isolation or mental health challenges, and/or have lived experience of Domestic Violence or Sexual Abuse.
Duties
- Offer weekly emotional support to vulnerable women over the phone or video call, using listening and empathy skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding policies at all times.
- Participate in training sessions covering basic counselling skills.
Skills
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to listen empathetically and engage effectively with diverse individuals
- Basic IT literacy
- Fluency in English is required for clear communication
Pay: £0.50 per year
Work Location: Remote
